Have a look at this deadly Prisons of Profit Ruffle dress By Koori Threads, which tells the powerful stories of Australia's past and current actions around our Deaths in custody as a multibillion-dollar empire of Australia

Almost 25 years after the Royal Commission report, In 2024 alone, another 18 Deaths in custody have occurred, bringing the total to 576 Deaths now!

Where our mob come out of jail worse off than when they went in, getting sicker in a system that says they will be safe, our system continues to approve because it's a multibillion-dollar in Australia.

We have one of the highest rates of private incarceration in the world with more than 20% of prisoners held in privately operated prisons are our mob! But we don't hear about how much that costs Australia, costing taxpayers $658 million per year on the management of privatized jails

The corporations that have benefitted from the Australian government’s privatization of correctional services are four multinationals UK-based companies called Serco and G4S and US-based GEO Group and MTC, so yes our money is going offshore and straight to England

Combined, they run ten privatized corrections centers across Australia. According to 2020 financial reports filed with ASIC, the revenues of the companies increased by 11% on average.

ATO Tax Transparency data told us that between the 2016-17 and 2018-19 financial years, GEO Group raked in $1.46 billion of revenue without paying a cent of tax!

Well how then?

They say GEO is Australia’s most experienced non-government provider of correctional centers and healthcare services in Australia, and their core business is health care, so how do they continue to get it so wrong whilst making billion-dollar profits off our Privatization of Jails!

The red lines represent the prison bars & all of the blood from the Deaths in custody, the helplessness of knowing if you go in, you may never come out, and these are our brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, babies, our families!

As every line on this story connects, this is because there is no way out of this system, and these are the bars that keep us locked in, you can fight it, but you won't win, because it is a broken system that the whole world knows of, yet we can't change it.

It is where we jail our children at the age of 10, in places so dark that there is no hope, because there is no hope

It is the blindness & helplessness of corruption that is "Aboriginal Deaths in custody

The yellow is to represent the shame cause we all know them fullas yella (yellow), this is a cowardly system that is a business model called profits of prisons!

Help to break those chains now and share this story far and wide, and wear it loud black and proud
